The Agrodome
For over 40 years, visitors from all over the globe have come to the Agrodome to see our world-famous Farm Show starring a cast of talented animals… and you! Get ready for a fun-packed hour of entertainment and education for the whole family! You’ll hear amazing facts and have a few laughs as you’re introduced to 19 breeds of sheep. Then, witness a live sheep shearing demonstration and a fun sheep auction with bidding from the floor and audience participation. If a hands-on experience is what you want, jump up on stage for the opportunity to feed the baby lambs or even hand-milk a cow! After the show you can also visit the Farmyard Nursery, which is home to our cutest baby animals who are available for cuddles and photos all year round!
Plus, if you really want to explore the Agrodome 350-acre working farm then join our Farm Tour. During this guided tour, you’ll get to hand-feed loads of friendly animals such as sheep, cows, deer, emu, alpaca, pigs and ostrich, aswell as sample delicious kiwifruit juice and honey from our land.
How about an exclusive tour of the Agrodome? Our new Back Country Adventure takes you off-road and into areas not normally open to visitors! You’ll travel through swamps, orchards, cattle and sheep pastures in a powerful 686cc Yamaha Viking VI! Hold on tight, these vehicles can traverse almost anything, ideal for accessing some truly incredible panoramic views of Lake Rotorua and Mt Ngongotaha.
If you’d like to slow down from your busy lifestyle then climb aboard an authentic wagon and enjoy a laid-back trip around the Agrodome Farm with our Clydesdale Team. You will explore serene pasture land and paddocks whilst being pulled along by the trio of beautiful Clydesdale horses.
Before you leave, don’t forget to pop into the Wollen Mill and Shearing Museum. Here you’ll learn the remarkable story of NZ pioneers the Bowen brothers and discover the full process of wool from the Sheep’s back to yours.
